So this was the big weekend for the trip. We were all set to go and had just gotten on the freeway when Darrell's car started making some weird noises. We pulled off to the side of the road and see one side of the plastic covering from under his car hanging down, almost touching the ground. Not good. We were so confused about what happened since we didn't hit anything (we later figured out that it was because Darrell had gotten his oil changed earlier in the day and they probably didn't screw the covering back on when they were done). We made it to the gas station where we were able to make-shift fix it with duct tape so we could make it back to our apartment and switch to my car..
Once we were back on the road, I figured it would be a good idea to call our hotel and confirm our reservations for the night. We had found a great deal on-line, but I wanted to double check to make sure the hotel knew we were coming. I'm glad I did because when I called they said they had no reservations for our name...and the hotel was way more expensive than we were planning on spending. Luckily we were able to figure something else out and we got a nice hotel booked!
When we got to St. George, we found a little BBQ restaurant called Troy's BBQ. It was SO good and so cute. It kind of reminded me of an old-fashioned diner. I love small town feel stuff!
After dinner, we made our way over to the theater and it was so beautiful. The back drop was all red-rock.
Since the show was "The Little Mermaid," they had some really cool special effects using water to make it look like they were underwater. The show was SO good! Even Darrell had his eyes glued to the stage the whole time.
The next day we were planning on spending the day at Sand Hollow State park swimming and laying out, but when I looked up the directions on my phone, I saw that the water had invasive mussels and swimmer's itch, both of which do not sound appealing. So instead, we spent our day relaxing at the hotel in St. George. I was just happy to spend some time in the sun.
Darrell had to get back in touch with his masculine side after seeing "The Little Mermaid" by spending his time at the pool reading ESPN. One thing I have learned about this boy since we've been married is HOW MUCH he loves his sports. I knew he was a big fan, but I didn't realize how far that went. Reading/listening to/watching/playing sports.. he loves it all!
So even though our weekend plans didn't go quite according to plan, we still had a fun little trip together. I still can't believe I'm graduating from college!

Haha, that was one of those things that surprised me most about Guillaume when we first got married too.... Same thing I knew he liked sports, but I had no idea how MUCH he loved it and actually followed it online and ESPN. Glad to hear you're doing well!!
