I have always wanted to go to Las Vegas because I love the bright lights, big city kind of thing. Darrell and I figured we needed to take advantage of the five and a half hour drive before we move to the other side of the country, so we picked a weekend and decided to go. We invited our friends, Elizabeth and John, and made it into a fun last-hurrah trip with them (until we plan a reunion vacation, of course).
John and Elizabeth told us about a current deal on Hot Wire, so we booked our rooms and stayed the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino Hotel (very original name, but a great hotel).
We packed our bags and left on a Friday afternoon. We made a quick stop in St. George for dinner and were in Las Vegas in no time!
We spent a lot of time at the pool. It was in the mid-90s and sunny when we were there. Perfect pool weather!
We also ate (too much) good food. My personal favorite was dessert at Max Brenner's Chocolate Bar. Darrell and I had a s'mores sundae and I have craved it every day since.
We also had a delicious lunch at Hard Rock Cafe
And some delicious cheesecake (and smoothies) at The Cheesecake Factory.
We spent quite a bit of time walking around the strip and just admiring all of the hotels and casinos. I can't believe how big they are and how much detail goes into it.
None of us had ever used slot machines before, so we put a dollar in the one cent machine and all took our turns pulling it.
None of us really liked it all that much and it was kind of a let down (I thought it was way too confusing), except for Darrell who won a whopping 20 cents! I don't think any of us will take up gambling any time soon.
We also watched the Bellagio Fountains multiple times and the Volcano Show in front of the Mirage. Both were very cool and I was super impressed.
We also went to the Coke Factory and got to try different Coke products that they sell around the world. They were some that were really good, but a couple that I can't even believe they sell because they were so gross. Coke Zero is still my favorite.
The Coke bear was also there. It was so bizarre because you could tell there was a person inside, but the bear could still blink and smile. We didn't want to pay the $25 for our picture, so green screen it is!
We also made a stop in M&M's World. That's really what it is--M&M's everything you could ever think of!
Even though it was a quick trip, we had tons of fun! Thanks Las Vegas!

So fun!! I'm glad you got to go :) I love that city!
